On today’s episode we have Victoria joining us in my room today and I am so excited to have her back. This is our first season of the Girls Room but not my first podcast run. She was one of my first guests originally and now we are back at it again and I couldn’t be happier. We have been best friends since the 7th grade and have lived so much life together. Victoria is one of the most consistent people I know and is honestly the perfect person to talk about community – how to get it, how to keep it, and how to love it in all the right places. So if you are looking for a close knit community, longing for deeper friendships, and or women who are going to encourage you in your faith then this is for you. Alright, I am so excited to share, so here is my conversation with Victoria.
“Every friendship is supposed to be different. That’s what makes friendship so special.”
“I realized, you know what, to make a community you actually have to put in work.”
“My biggest advice for girls (who feel alone), is to speak up, find a church, and just get plugged in.”
“I’ve learned there’s seasons for friendships. Not everyone is supposed to be in your life forever.”
“Remember you’re not supposed to fix people. Now you’re supposed to be with them, and comfort them, and give them wisdom. But you are not God.”
“Sometimes you need to listen to your friends. You need to listen to people.”
“There are times to say something and times to listen. Be really mindful of that.”
“Don’t compromise who you are for other people.”

Maya and Victoria, listening to the podcast made me feel like I was in the room with you two. As I listened with headphones on, I found myself nodding a lot and saying “amen” (in my head LOL).
Best quote – “Run to Jesus” best reminder – build relationships, consistency is important (which is true of our relationship with Christ and others). We’re taught to love one another well. This topic totally hit home! Keep them coming 🙂
