I am so excited to introduce Rhesa Ojomoh. Rhesa is passionate about the Word of God and how it leads us into deeper realization of who Jesus is. Today we are going to talk about navigating sexual desire and why the Lord asks for our obedience in this way. Rhesa shares her story about how she didn’t want to give this part of her life to God, but when she did, her view of her sexuality, her relationship with God – it completely changed. I cannot wait to share this with you, so let’s get into it!
Navigating Shame and Guilt Blog Post
“I felt so convicted that God would use someone like me–He sees me, He knows what I’m doing–and yet He would still use me to touch other people.”
“We need to remember that we are children of God. We belong to Him. We are flesh of His flesh and blood of His blood and there’s an inherent intimacy–even if we don’t feel it, we are.”
“If a congregation of 300 people each feel that they have this intimate and unique relationship with God then clearly there’s enough space in God’s heart that I can access that too and I don’t need to feel left out.”
“I didn’t let the reality of the cross really sink in because then you have to respond to it.”
“I have to no longer put my thoughts and feelings above what You’ve said because You’ve paid the price, You’ve demonstrated, very literally, that You love me and then beyond that, not only would You die for me, You would then resurrect for me, and go back to the Father and create a place for me.”
“You can do what you want, but doing what you want isn’t always what’s best for you.”
“We live in a society where it’s instant gratification–where I can Amazon Prime it and it’s here, I want it NOW–we’re not used to waiting anymore, and we don’t value what the wait does in our hearts.”
